Our Story

A love story you can taste — told one warm greeting at a time.

"Amber Hour" — golden light, warm tea, and the hour we open our doors to you.

The name

Named for the golden hour.

Amber Hour Tea Co. is named for that first sip at the end of a long day — the golden hour when the light turns amber and everything slows down. It's the feeling the founders wanted every cup to carry.

"Amber" for the color of our signature brown sugar boba; "Hour" for the ritual of stepping away, even for ten minutes, to enjoy something made well. Put together, they're a promise: come as you are, we'll pour the rest.

From Taiwan to Anytown

7,546 miles from home.

After moving to Anytown, the founders set out to recreate the Taiwanese bento, snacks, and bubble tea they grew up loving — the exact flavors, not an approximation. After countless attempts, they finally captured it.

What began in a tiny bar shared with a hotpot restaurant has grown into a shop of our own. As we grow, our mission stays the same: we care what our customers think, and we deliver the highest quality in everything we make.

Why we're unique

Real ingredients, no shortcuts.

We source responsibly and obsess over the details — loose-leaf tea and brown sugar from Taiwan, fresh fruit, and the finest tapioca pearls. Teas are freshly brewed and pearls slowly cooked by our own staff, every day.

Our Taiwanese grilled chicken steak — exclusively distributed in North America — is coated in a special sauce made from several Chinese herbs, rich with a flavor that's unmistakably ours.

Our tea

Cherry-picked, leaf by leaf.

We import high-quality tea straight from Taiwan, each variety hand-selected by our team. It can be served as milk tea, fruit tea, or the simplest pure tea with no sugar at all.

The amount of leaves and the temperature of the water are measured precisely, and every step is controlled before a single cup reaches you. Great boba starts with great tea.
